Punjab Govt. asked to pay Rs24b in damages by 24 Nazims


LAHORE: As many as 24 District Nazims in the province of Punjab have served a notice to the Punjab government making payment of Rs24 billion damages.

The Nazims in their notice have taken the stand that the Punjab government should stop defaming the institution of local government set up under the constitution. They said that the Punjab Govt. by getting malicious advertisements published in the newspapers has damaged our honour and fame and demanded from the Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif to make payment of Rs24 billion within 15 days besides apologizing on the media.
