IHC reserves judgment in Farah Hamid Dogar marks’ case


ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court reserved its judgment till Friday on a petition against additional marks’ given to Farah Hamid Dogar.

Chief Justice, IHC, Sardar Muhammad Aslam heard two petitions. Azam Sultan Puri and Barrister Javed Iqbal argued that 20 additional marks had been given in violation of the Federal Education Board’s rules and regulations.

While Defence Counsel Malik Qayyum pleaded the court to consider those judgments under which courts had accepted the requests for re-assessment.

In his remarks, Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam said that court was not approached in the case of Farah Hamid Dogar while board’s chairman had issued the rechecking orders on his own. He said that chairman had no authority to allow the re-marking.

IHC Chief Justice examined the examination record of Farah Hamid Dogar and offered the petitioners to check the record as well. Barrister Jaffri said that the student had not mentioned any specific reason for the rechecking.
