Parliament decision on 17th Amendment will be acceptable: Malik


RAIWIND: Interior Advisor, Rahman Malik has said that the parliament was representing the nation and the decision whatever taken by the parliament on 17th Amendment would be acceptable.

Following a meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif, he told media that the allied parties were consulted on the aftermaths of the Mumbai attacks and talks with Nawaz Sharif primarily focused law and order in the country and foreign threats. He said that the People’s Party talked of consensus, wanted to take along all the political parties and he has met Nawaz Sharif taking his seniors into confidence.

Rahman Malik disclosed that Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s efforts bore fruits and the Lahore blasts accused have been arrested. He said that he had shared the information with Shahbaz Sharif relating to the arrests made in connection with Mumbai attacks.

Earlier in his meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif, Rahman Malik passed on the message of President Asif Ali Zardari and exchanged views on matters relating to the security of the country. He urged upon ML-N to cooperate in resolving the security issues facing the country.

Mian nawaz Sharif on this occasion stressed on PPP fulfilling the pledges relating to Charter of Democracy and restoration of judges. He said that we wanted PPP to move the resolution repealing 17th Amendment, but as it didn’t happen, we have come forward with our own Bill. Mian Shahbaz Sharif was also present in this meeting termed crucial.
