ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Saturday responding to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's latest remarks urged India to respond positively to Pakistan's proposals for pragmatic and constructive engagement on countering terrorism.

Prime Minister Gilani in a statement issued from Foreign Office on Saturday evening said, "We have seen the remarks of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking Pakistan to ensure against attacks like Mumbai and the Indian Embassy in Kabul, as well as to measure up to its words by actions".

The Prime Minister Gilani said, "The Prime Minister of India is entitled to his views. However, instead of placing the onus for India's security on Pakistan, we expect the Indian government to respond positively to our proposals for pragmatic and constructive engagement on countering terrorism."

Gilani said, "We have on our own initiated a series of actions. These have been shared with India through diplomatic channels."
