700 new post offices to be established in country: Zehri

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Postal Services Mir Israrullah Zehri Thursday said there is a proposal to open 700 new post offices to ensure postal services at every union council level in the country.

He said besides providing postal services to the customers, the new post offices would ensure job opportunities to the youth.

The minister said that more than 1.2 million post offices are already providing various services including saving schemes, postal services, utility bills and receipts of government taxes.

About facilities for postal employees, he said besides basic facilities, the projects of setting up hospitals, schools and accommodation are being completed at a fast track.

Israrullah Zehri vowed to make Postal Services a unique institution of the country and said that “one window” facilities will be available in post offices.

Talking to about situation in Balochistan province, he said that image of Baloch people is being tarnished by some elements through a negative propaganda.
