President urges India to observe patience


ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari Saturday urged India to respond positively to the Pakistan’s offer of carrying out a joint investigation into the Mumbai attacks.

He said this during his meeting with Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik who called on the former here in the Presidency.

“Pakistan has seriously engaged itself in conducting investigation into the Mumbai violence,” he asserted, adding if anyone is found involved in the crime he would be tried under Pakistan’s own judicial system.

President Zardari said Pakistan is making all possible efforts towards elimination of terrorist elements.

He said India should observe patience and assured that it will be it will be dully informed about the results of the investigation.

The President said India and Pakistan will have to tackle the menace of terrorism together.
